Weekly Update

Ms. Chiang's Weekly Update

"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today." ~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

We're off to a great start!  Students are getting back in the routine of doing homework and having planners signed.  Thank you, parents for establishing a good study routine at home that also includes online Math & Science games. In Math, we are reviewing Multiplication Facts and learning about place value system this week. In Science we are learning about Scientific Method this week.

Being on time to class is essential. Majority of 5th graders are now doing much better with their lockers this week. There are still some students have trouble to open their lock during transition time, but overall most of them can open their lockers timely.

Being organized and prepared will help students be successful in class. Please check requested supplies list.

Donations are appreciated, such as Tissue box, Clorox Wipes, Colored utensils, Glue sticks, any craft and craft supplies.

Welcome back to school!!

"Success is never accidental"

Dear Parents & Students,

This is my twelfth year at OPA and I am excited to welcome all of my students to a new year full of possibilities! A new school year is an opportunity to get a fresh start, to establish a good homework/study routine, and to work together, so that we can make this the best year ever!

Parents, please read & sign your child's planner DAILY, and make sure homework is completed.  Also, look for any notes from me. Please limit your child's TV viewing; instead please refer to the "FREE Math Practice" page located on the right. These are fun Math programs that will reinforce the skills required to excel in Math.  For your child's grades, check Aspire weekly, to see how your child is doing on classwork, homework and tests.
