Thank you SO much for an awesome year. We accomplished so much!  This is our last week of school and I am going to miss all of you. I have enjoyed being your teacher this year.

Weekly Update (May 15-May19)

Dear Parents and Students,

All missing assignments or make-up work needs to be turned in by Friday, May 19, 2017. The grades will be finalized on Friday, May 19th, and we will be printing elementary report cards on May 22.

We have several events going on this week. Please make sure your child has returned all his/her library books, or pay off the replacement cost for missing books. The school library will be closed on Tuesday, May 16 to do the end of the year inventory. Check out books is not available after May 16.

Wednesday, May 17~ is Lagoon Day. Congratulations to those 200 Aguilas of Excellence students who have earned the opportunity to go to Lagoon this year. Thank you for returning permission slips timely last Friday, May 12. Please do not send money to the school. Students should take their money ($33.00) with them to Lagoon to purchase their pass. It is free dress. Busses leave OPA at approximately 8:30 a.m. and will return to OPA at approximately 5:00 p.m. Please make arrangements to be picked up at the school after we return.

Thursday, May 18~ is 5th Grade Maturation. Students with permission slips will have their classes on hygiene and puberty at 1:45 p.m. Boys and girls will be separated in different locations for this instructional program.

Friday, May 19~ is Locker Clean Up Day. Please make sure all of items from your locker are taken home by today, The lock will be collected on Friday. Next week, students are encouraged to not bring or leave anything valuable in your locker because they won't have their lock for their locker.

Weekly Update (May8-12)

Dear Parents,

Please continue to check Aspire Gradebook weekly, and as regularly as possible with your child, to teach them to be responsible and to take ownership of their learning. Students who have zero or missing assignments should make up their assignment promptly, and before/during Friday's make up day. Students will have class assignments for the rest of the year, no homework assignments will sent home. However, if students don't finish their classwork, they can take assignments home to complete as homework.

We will be doing SAGE make up this week. Students who have not finished their tests will have  opportunities to complete them on Monday and Tuesday.

Dear Parents and Students,

This week students will take Math Sage Tests on Monday, May 1st and Tuesday, May 2nd.  Please have those dates on the calendar to minimize being tardy, or/and absent on those dates. Students are strongly encouraged to bring their own headphones for testing dates. Thank you for encouraging your child to do his/her best, to finish our last quarter strong!

Please make sure that your child:

•  Goes to bed early and is well rested
•  Eats a good breakfast.
•  Packs a healthy snack/and water.
•  Has a positive, “I can-do-anything” attitude!
•  Comes prepared to do his/her best!
•  Arrives at school on time.
