Weekly Update 11/28-12/2

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break! I hope you all had a restful and relaxing time with your family and friends.

Math
We will learn about exponents and order of operations, and review multiplying/dividing 10,100,1000. We have done multiplication facts and division facts quizzes and drills in class. Please continue practicing basic math facts with your child at home.

This week assignments for Prodigy are practicing these skills:


  • Order of operations
  • Multiplying decimals by 10, 100, 1000, and 10000-multiple choice
  • Multiplying decimals by 10, 100, 1000, and 10000-missing multiplier
  • Dividing decimals by 10 and 100-multiple choice 
  • Dividing decimals by 10 and 100-missing divisor
  • Multiply and dividing whole numbers by 10, 100, and 1000
We use Prodigy to practice math skills and concepts that we learned in math class. Please include Prodigy Math games in your child's daily math homework routine for 20 minutes, or longer.

Science
We are starting a new science unit on Magnetism. This week, students will investigate and compare the behavior of magnetism using magnets, and understand how magnets both attract and repel other magnets.  Below is this week's vocabulary words on Magnetism LINC#1.

REMINDERS

Jan.6 -Quarter 2 ends. All missing assignments or quiz retakes need to be turned in and done by Tuesday, December 20!! Please continue checking your child's grades on Aspire on a weekly basis.
